One of the biggest privileges for seniors is the opportunity to have a Senior Ditch Day. It is one of the most looked forward to senior celebrations, and is a tradition that could never be missed… or so we thought.

Two days ago, February 6th, was the deadline for the sign up for their annual trip to DisneyLand. The Class of 2018 has the possibility of being the first class in all of Faith Lutheran history to not go due to lack of enthusiasm for the trip.

Even though not enough people signed up, will they still send the ones who want to go? “Student Council has been pushing people to sign up, but not enough people have been signing up and we need a certain amount to go,” said senior Sydney Washington.

Julie Buuck, the Director of Student Life, said “It’s the kids who are buying tickets on the side, so that’s a big issue.” This is the first class who have the potential of not being able to go, and said it is completely baffling her.

“No one has ever said they think it’s too babyish, or they think it’s stupid, or whatever, we need to reevaluate.”

If the tradition is cancelled will the seniors still have the day off? Or will they plan something else instead? At this point in time, all they can do is wait…
