The Welcome Cru is all about creating a welcoming environment and community for future Crusaders. Through different events such as Future Crusader days and Explore Faith open houses, the goal is to create friendships, share God’s love, and show the community a place where they can feel seen and heard.
Starting middle School and high School can feel overwhelming and scary at times. This is what Welcome Cru is for! To give new students a day to get to know their new school and get to know some of their classmates that may feel the same way they do about starting something new. Welcome Cru activity leader Abbie Fox states, “ Welcome Cru builds community by being that first friend for new students, making them feel seen, valued, and welcomed. At the same time, ambassadors grow closer as a team by serving together, which creates authentic friendships both within Welcome Cru and across the school.”
As for a Welcome Cru ambassador it is not just about volunteering it’s about representing our schools mission and purpose. Welcome Cru activity leader Michelle Dwyer states “ As Welcome Cru ambassadors engage with prospective families, they have to define for themselves what their Faith Lutheran experience means to them. They essentially develop a testimony about how Faith has served them academically, socially, and spiritually. I would hope that talking about their role at Faith strengthens their sense of community and connection to our school.” By representing our school in a positive way and creating a welcoming environment for students to want to get involved and want to be a part of something here at Faith Lutheran.
