Every year, Faith Lutheran seniors have the opportunity to participate in a mock government. Students in the regular government class could run for president, speaker of the house, majority leader of the house, or minority leader of the house. Students in AP government are able to run for president, senate pro tempore, majority leader of the senate, and minority leader of the senate.

After a week of primary elections, final elections have been concluded. The Feb. 25 and 26 election days have closed and the ballots are counted. Earlier this evening government teacher, Mr. Ryan Watts, posted the results in his Twitter account.

The elected 2016 government results are listed below:

President: Cole Thomas

Senate Pro Tempore: Dominic Grant

Speaker of the House: Zach Friel

Majority Leader of the House: Jessica Schumacher

Minority Leader of the House: Justin Juntilla

Majority Leader of the Senate: Akiah Cepielik

Minority Leader of the Senate: Tie between Hailey Petersen and Kayla Murai
