Between six-mile runs every morning, earning a gold medal at state in track, and AP classes, how does junior Hannah Pavlov find time for social events? We talked to Hannah to see how she balances such a busy schedule.  It is not just a balancing act, it’s her life.

Q: What is your daily routine?

A: During track season I wake up at 6:30 get ready for school. Then I go to practice usually from 3:00-5:15 or 5:30 and then 2-3 days a week I go to tutoring from 6-8 and then I go home and do a few hours of homework.

 

Q: How do you balance being an athlete and an AP student?

A: It’s difficult to balance but I try to get ahead by doing extra homework on Sunday and manage my time well during the week.

 

Q: How long have you been running for?

A: I have been running track since seventh grade and cross-country since freshman year.

 

Q: What is your future plans?

A: I plan on going to college and getting a degree to become a lawyer, doctor, or a business degree and opening my own bakery.

 

Q: In 10 years where do you see yourself?

A: I see myself graduated from college and having a family.

 

Q: Do you plan on continuing on running in college?

A: Yes I think I want to continue running in college but I haven’t decided yet if it’s something I really want to continue with.

 

Q: Have you been approached for any academic or sport scholarships?

A: I have been emailed by a bunch of cross-country coaches and will be attending a few running camps this summer at the college I am interested in.

 

Q: Do you know what college you want to go to?

A: I haven’t decided which one yet but I want to either go to California or a college in Chicago.

 

Q: Normal teenagers roll out of bed, how do you motivate yourself to get up early to go on your runs?

A: It’s something that I enjoy to do and I feel great once I am done so that helps motivate me. Also, all my goals help push me to wake up early and run.

 

Q: Why did you start running?

A: I started running in middle school because my mom was a runner and I ended really loving it and have kept with it for the past few years!
