On February 9, 2019, the Girl Scouts of America’s Las Vegas troop planted a tree in memory of multiple members who passed away recently. One of those members being Ashley Perrone, former Faith Lutheran student.
Ashley Perrone lost a six month battle due to an illness in August 2018, the same day she would have been starting as a freshman in high school.
Dr. Marielaina Perrone, Ashley’s mother, read a poem she wrote about her daughter. The poem touched on the bright, radiant, sunshine Ashley was and the “sparkly rainbow of bright colors she brought to everyone around her.” After the poem, she asked all in attendance to sprinkle glitter all around Ashley’s tree located at West Flamingo Park, 6255 W. Flamingo Road.
Ashley began a foundation that provides soft, colorful sheets to brighten up hospital beds in the pediatric wards. If you would like to learn more about Ashley Strong Foundation click on this link http://ashleystrongfoundation.org
