Not Your Average Wonderland

This year, the Faith Lutheran drama department will put its unique and original twist on the classic story of Alice in Wonderland.  The mysterious story line will feature Alice in an insane asylum. It will leave the audience wondering if she is truly mad or if it’s simply the world around her that’s crazy.

The show has been in the works for over a year now and “the idea of finally being able to put a face with the characters and all of the work I’ve put into it was so wonderful,” said director, Mrs. Ball. She describes the audition process as “exciting and stressful. It’s very hard because I know I will be hurting kids that I genuinely care about.”

Writer and assistant director, Mr. Ball, makes it clear that, “It’s not a children’s show. It’s not the Disney version. We want to give an edge of creepy, an edge of mystery, and an edge of thriller.”

Victoria Feldman, junior, who recently starred in the epic production of Peter Pan, will portray the lead role of Alice.  She compares herself with the character by saying, “we are both curious about everything that’s going on around us.”  Isaiah Knott, junior, will take the role of the Cheshire Cat and Brooke Solan, junior, will star as the Mad Hatter.

Alice’s Wonderland will kick off the start of the new theater season at Faith Lutheran. The production will take the stage during the first and second weeks of November so get your tickets now at faithlutheranlv.org under the Fine Arts – Drama section.
