What’s Crackin Near Faith?

Recently a new breakfast restaurant, The Cracked Egg, opened less than a mile away from campus. There’s no avoiding the restaurant, which is located right next to Firehouse Subs.

After arriving we were seated quickly, and the waitress asked for our drink orders a few minutes after we took a seat. Although I read some negative reviews regarding service, we did not have any problems with the employees.  Once we got our beverages, the waitress recommended two of their best sellers so far: The Eggs Benedict and the Nutella s’mores stuffed french toast. Our food came out in about 10 minutes, fresh from the kitchen.

The french toast came with six pieces. More than enough to share, although it was so good I don’t know if anyone would want to share! The french toast was coated with a warm layer of Nutella hazelnut spread, which secured the layer of melted marshmallows and crushed graham crackers on top of it.

The eggs Benedict was served for one, not quite enough food to share, but equally as tasty as the French toast. The muffins underneath the eggs were very large and fit the eggs and ham perfectly. The hollandaise sauce on top was a exquisite topping for the two eggs. The potatoes cubes on the side were seasoned to perfection, and were a heavenly addition to the already superb meal.

While there we saw a few Faith kids eating breakfast, which wasn’t a surprise considering it’s so close to to campus. We asked our waitress if Faith kids frequented the restaurant and she told us she had seen many parents taking their children with them, as well as high schoolers eating with their classmates.

After our delicious meal we talked with the manager, Kurtis, and he let us know, “Business has been really good, we’ve been picking up each day as we’ve gone. We’ve gotten busier as the weeks have gone by. Weekends have been super busy, which we expect because everyone loves breakfast on the weekends.” In regards to Faith students eating there he said, “We’re seeing more and more of the logos around the restaurant, which is great.”

Faith Lutheran wishes the best of luck to The Cracked Egg!
