Pumpkin spice lattes are back in season and so are fall sports including hockey, football, and soccer. Last weekend Faith Lutheran Crusaders marked their territory in Orange County. Faith Lutheran has three hockey teams, Junior Varsity, Division 3, and Division 2.
The hockey season started in early August. Faith teams have had two at home showcases and the opening of the regular season came last weekend on the road in Southern California. The hockey teams travel together, meaning Junior Varsity, Division 3, and Division 2 go on the road at the same time.
Librarian Mrs. Bowline is a big hockey fan, and said that she loves to attened Faith Hockey Games, “I’ve been there since the first game where we had over 900 people there, and it was awesome!”
Faith Lutheran plays in the ADHSHL, which stands for Anaheim Ducks High School Hockey League. The JV team went 2-1 winning Friday night and Saturday afternoon before losing Saturday night. JV center Kaleb Strebel enjoyed, “watching the team come together so we could win some games.”
The strong start to the season has them sitting first in league standings. JV forward Jordan Nikogosian, said that his favorite part of the weekend was, “just hanging out with the team at the hotel.” JV goalie Fynn Boris said, “being with the team and praying after games,” as his favorite part of the trip.
Division 3 has lost all three games, leaving them at 6th in their league standings. Division 2 went 2-1 and are second place in their league. Up next JV, D3, and D2 travel back to Orange County. You can stream the games live at https://www.livebarn.com.
