After school when you are looking for the trainer you should not be looking for Mr.Orr any more. Faith Lutheran’s athletic department gained a new trainer over the summer her name is Lauren Dickey. Our former trainer Mr. Orr had other responsibilities so he stepped down from the job.

“I wanted to spend more time with family and it was very time consuming and I knew that the school needed someone who can give them more time,” said Mr. Orr.

Before Lauren came to Las Vegas, she attended Washington State University. Then, two years ago, she moved here and got her masters in Kinesiology at UNLV. Kinesiology is the study of human kinetics or human movement. When she found out about the job she was enthusiastic because she didn’t want to leave Las Vegas.

“I chose to work at Faith for the community of believers, the ability to work full time serving the student athletes here,” said Lauren Dickey.

Lauren’s ultimate goal this year is to help our athletes grow, be successful, and overall be mindful student athletes. She also wants them to develop good habits of taking care of their body. She believes that’s what she is here for.

“She is a good trainer she knows what she is talking about. She helps me out with my back,” said Charles Dowell.

Lauren is thrilled to be working with all of our teams, meeting everyone, and is looking forward to upcoming seasons.

“I’m anticipating a lot of fun and excitement from this group of student athletes,” said Dickey. “Unfortunately, a lot of injuries but that’s what I’m here for.”
